Clean & Deseed a Pumpkin

Gather Tools
2 minCollect a sturdy knife, a large spoon or ice cream scoop, a bowl for seeds, and a clean workspace.

Cut Open Top
3 minUsing a sturdy knife, carefully cut a circular lid around the stem, angling inwards to create a stable opening.

Remove Guts
5 minUse a large spoon or scoop to scrape out all stringy pulp and loose seeds from the pumpkin interior.

Deseed & Rinse
7 minPlace the pulp and seeds in a bowl of water, then separate the seeds from the stringy bits by hand and rinse them clean.

Scrape Walls Clean
5 minUse your spoon or scoop to thoroughly scrape the inside walls of the pumpkin until smooth and free of all remaining pulp.

Wipe Dry
1 minUse a paper towel to wipe the inside of the pumpkin completely dry, preparing it for carving or cooking.
